Our proposal
The goals and objectives of The Omar Kamali Medical Center, Jalalabad Afghanistan are:
- To design, develop, construct and operate a fully functional, state-of-the-art medical center in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, that will meet the medical needs of Afghanistan
- To design, develop, construct and operate a fully functional, 350-bed hospital with a 250-bed Level One Trauma Center in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, with separate wards for men, women and children
- To design, develop, construct and operate fully functional regional medical clinics throughout Afghanistan
- To operate these facilities with appropriate staffing levels of medical and support personnel
- To provide medical services to the greatest extent possible to all individuals, regardless of nationality, religion, ethnicity, language or any other condition
- To establish a Level One Trauma Center emergency medical transportation system, including helicopters and ambulances, to serve the medical transportation needs of the Medical Center and all its regional clinics
- To establish a state-of-the-art communication and information technology department that will enable direct communications among the Medical Center in Jalalabad, its affiliated regional clinics, the emergency medical transportation system and the medical communities of the world
We are committed to the desired outcomes discussed in the Afghan Ministry of Public Health’s Annual Report 1387. They include:
- Improved and equitable access enabling all individuals who seek any medical attention to obtain high-quality primary, secondary and tertiary health care
- Availability of women’s health care with improved reproductive and child health-care services
- Measures to stop the spread of communicable diseases in Afghanistan
- Direct involvement with processes for improving the nutritional status of all Afghans
- Support for and performance of administrative and financial reforms in health care that lead to provision of medical care for all Afghans
- Institutional development and evidence-based decision making for our patients and their care, as well as for the operation of our Medical Center and clinics
The Omar Kamali Medical Center, Jalalabad Afghanistan and its clinics will work directly with Afghanistan’s Ministry of Public Health to meet the medical goals and objectives set forth in the ministry’s programs, including the following documents:
- Essential Package of Hospital Services for Afghanistan
- Basic Package of Health Services for Afghanistan, 2005/1384
- National Health Policy 2005-2009 and National Health Strategy 2005-2006.
